  1. I am sorry to see that the lidar system is still down. We continue to see an interesting dust (and pollution?) event with the NASA MPL at Ragged Point. The event began on 4 March as can be seen very nicely in your depolarization product for that day. The dust moved in late in the day. On the basis of back-trajectories and the airport raobs, it seems like the low-level aerosol is African dust but the aerosol above about 1km is pollution aerosol from North America and/or South America. This situation continues even now, 11 March.
